OCR PDF without upload

OCR can turn a scanned PDF or image into selectable text. With Massicot PDF, the recognition runs in your browser, so the document is not sent to a server for processing.

1

When to use OCR without upload

Use OCR when a PDF contains scanned pages, photos of documents, invoices, forms or letters where the text cannot be selected. A no-upload workflow is useful when the file contains customer data, accounting information or administrative details.

2

How Massicot PDF handles OCR

Select a PDF or image, choose the recognition language, then start OCR. For PDF files, pages are rendered in the browser before Tesseract.js reads the text.

3

Limits of browser OCR

OCR quality depends on the scan quality, page orientation, language and contrast. Large PDFs can take several minutes, which is why Massicot PDF warns before processing documents with many pages.
